Well, that title’s not completely accurate as there have been quite a few things that have been amazing for me over the past few months. Still, several busy weeks with no end in sight have left me fighting for time to get any real writing done and looking over the the to do list over the past few days has has me wondering when the heck it got so big and what to do about it. Complicating matters a bit as far as getting things done is that my son will be starting occupational and speech therapy soon (he has periventricular leukomalacia which affects his development and especially his speech) which makes me hesitant to commit to any hard release dates until I know how my new schedule looks (especially with the holidays staring us in the face).
So, with that in mind, I think I won’t be releasing any more full length novels this year, right now the tentative plan is to have a new release for January. I’d rather postpone completely than have to push a date people have been looking forward to (I’ve already had to do that this year once) or rush out a book that’s crappy to make a release date. Notice though, I said full length novels. I felt so bad as I came to this decision I was trying to figure out how I could make it somewhat right for those who are waiting for the next part of Rei’s story or wondering where the heck Eeksi’s next book is so I came up with releasing some of the unpublished short stories I have set in these worlds. They’re mainly background stuff… Prelude stuff really, but they’ll be released for free download somewhere (likely on all retailers and my mailing list).
I want to thank everyone for baring with me during this chaotic year and continuing to support this dream. It’s never easy to change things like this, even more so when you’re pushing things back. Still, I hope by doing this 2018 will shape up to be better and more consistent in terms of releases.
